Are the services branded?
- Yes. Every service we offer can be fully branded to your
domain name and your look and feel. Your customers should
never even know that we exist.
Do I have to use the
any software to signup my members? -
No,
you can use our instant activation scripts or you can activate
new members in your backroom control panel. We do offer ISP Wizard software which helps
new members get signed up and helps reduce your tech support
effort. This helps keep your membership churn to a minimum.
Members can, if you choose, use their dialup username and
password to connect via dialup networking, linux, Mac, WebTV,
or whatever.
Who are your backbone
providers?- We use Qwest, UUnet (MCI),
Sprint, Telia and Starnet. We currently offer Virtual ISP packages at
rates lower than their wholesale prices.
Can I migrate a current
membership? Yes - All we need is an Excel spread sheet or a comma seperated values text file of your membership. We can migrate you instantly.
Will our members get
unlimited access? - With a custom , private label realm, your members get unlimited access. With generic realms the following applies: Our backbone contracts
allow unlimited access on the Starnet and Telia networks.
Qwest is limited to 200 hours per month, while UUnet is
limited to 150 hours per month. You can, if you choose, not
offer the limited networks, making your service "unlimited."
How many dialup numbers will
we be able to offer? Over 9000 in the US and
Canada. You can see an example of one of the tools you will
have available to you for your members for access number
lookup using Access Number Lookup
on the left navigation bar of this page.
How am I billed for my
accounts? - You are billed for each new
customer that signs up during a month at the time of signup.
You are billed for the full month. There are no credits to the
ISP for partial months.
What Merchant Accounts are
supported? - If you need a merchant account, we can get one setup for you
quickly and affordable, contact us for assistance. Our online Instant
Account Activation scripts support Authorize.net, Virtual
Linkpoint, SecurePay, and Itransact.
Can I offer my customers
pro-rated months? - Yes,
our activation scripts allow for this.
Can I charge my customers a
setup fee or "activation?" -
Yes, you
can charge whatever setup fee you like.
Can I set my own pricing?
- Yes, pricing is your decision.
What other products and

How does billing work?
- You start off by placing funds on account, initially a
minimum of $100. As you get new members your account gets
invoiced for your cost per member per month. You can track
this real time in your backroom control panel.
Example: You are on Growth Plan 2, so your cost per member
per month is $8.80. With $100 on account, lets say you get 2
signups. We then invoice your account twice for $8.80 and
your new balance is $82.40. The money on your account with us
is your money. You can withdraw it anytime via email.
Around the 15th of each month we will total your membership
and collect funds for the coming month. These funds will be
held in your account until the 1st of next month. On the 1st
day of the next month you will be invoiced, and funds
transferred from your account to ours, for your membership.
Normally, we add a 10% growth factor in to your membership.
Example: On June 15th we see that you have 50 members.
First we allow for 10 percent growth so we call your
membership 55. We then bill you for 55 members times your rate
(in this example, $8.80). $8.80 X 55 = 484.00 These funds are
placed in your account. Then, on the 1st of July we would
invoice you for your actual membership which could be more or
less than what we collected based on your actual growth during
the end of the month.
This is something the ISP should watch very closely as if
you are under funded you will not be able to signup new
members. And even worse, if we cannot collect payment for your
accounts on the 15th, you will lose your ISP accounts on the
first of the next month.

Can PluginISP bill my
customers for me? - Yes and no. We can't
actually bill your customers for you, but if you have an Authorize.net merchant account, we have developed a script
that will populate a mysql database on our server, that you
can use to generate a comma separated file, that can be
uploaded as a batch into Authorize.net. This makes billing
your customers very easy. We only charge a one-time $300
programming fee to get your billing database setup. If you
have existing members, you will have to load those in by hand,
so its best to order this feature a few weeks before you "go
live."
Explain Generic Realms and
Private Label Realms - Many of our ISPs are
using our standard realms. When a new user signs up they join
one of the networks identified by one of the following
standard realms:
* uu.net (uu) - @world.net
* qwest (qw) - @pop.net
* telia (te) - @surf.net
* startnet (st) @usa
Example dialup username mjkuser@world.net
There are no extra charges for using our standard realms.
Some ISPs prefer custom, private label realms where the
enduser's dialup username would be the same as their email
address. You can add one or more, custom realm to your
service. New ISP's get unlimited access across the standard
realm with all 9000 numbers available.
